What UP Everybody!

What UP everybody!!!! RED Carpet features Hawai’i’s Premiere Entertainment Locations and I’d like to share with all of you of exactly where YOU can have a great time, enjoy your surroundings, and be comfortable! We start this piece off with a friendly Mahalo to you all for your support, Just to live in paradise and be the eyes and ears of the entertainment blog is a blessing for me. Mahaloz.

So summer’s here. Whether you’re a day person, early evening person, or a nightlife person, the summer is the hottest time of the year where entertainment is at its peak! And here we are! Present. Before we’re wild ‘n out, there are some things you should remember before leaving home. Do not forget sun screen. Trust me on this one, son. Sun screen will save your life so after you brush your teeth in the morning, put on your tanning oil, sun block, Aloe Gator, or which ever sun screen you prefer. It is the best time of the year to be in the water. You should definitely give yourself 20 minutes a day in the ocean, pool, spa, or even a bath! Experts say that submersing 2/3 of oneself in H2O for 20 minutes a day releases foreign substances from the body. Not to mention cleanses the soul. This may sound like a long time, but the time spent is well worth it for not only your physical body, it eases the mind. Carissa Moore mentioned in her RED Live Interview of the green issue (1.2), “Once you get pounded a couple times and realize that it’s not so bad, you start to have fun!!!… Everything is so perfect and so right… there is no place I’d rather be.” I must say the girl not only is a phenomenal surfer, she has an all-star attitude as well! So don’t take it from me now. Take it from her.
RED Carpet invites you to Indulge into the RED District. Bar 35 jumps off as we bring to you another Hawaii RED Magazine event featuring aesthetic art. Jewelry, models, clothing lines, with some flatbread pizza and an enticing turn out. Not to mention over 70 different kinds of beers available only under one roof from 6-9 pm. Indulge.
Speaking of Indulge, I must thank you all for your feedback on my column of last month. I’m sure you’re all aware of our column set-up into a blog format, and I’d like to take this opportunity to applaud you.
Now before I get to my question, Check out www.hnlnow.com for a list of events happening through out the state of Hawai’i.
My subject matter for this music and nightlife issue deals with welfare. I am talking about the intention of a certain venue, certain bar, certain night club, or certain entertainment event. I believe in safety. Good company is what I like to surround myself with. And there are many reasons why your hotspot could turn into a cold spot. Don’t get it twisted, people follow the trends and there is constant movement within the flow of summer fun. Nightlife is predominantly monopolized by the beauty of our environment and therefore most hot spots in the summer have some geographical influence. Whether it be on the beach (W Hotel), at a scenic backdrop (Longhi’s Ala Moana),or even at Duke’s Bar and Grill.

People in Hawaii gravitate towards the good stuff. But the question I’d like to challenge everyone with is not a question of who or what. But rather a question of how. How can YOU make this upcoming summer the best summer you have ever experienced in your lifetime? How can YOU make this summer the most memorable, entertaining, most educational summer you have ever witnessed in your life? C’mon. Let’s all be our witnesses!!

A hui hou!

Dress Up, Dress Down

The Launch of Hawaii Red Magazine is well under way and I’d like to first and foremost welcome all, and invite you to be on MY VIP List as an honored guest to Hawaii Red Magazines, Red Carpet! Hawaii Red Magazine could not have done this without all of your support, so without any other interruptions, let’s get going!
The topic for the launch of Red Carpet is Dress Up, Dress Down. Let me give some background on why I chose this subject. First of all, I love to go out. And not only that, I go to all kinds of different locations that range from dive bars to lounges, restaurants to clubs, movie dates to house parties, etc. As we are all aware of, certain settings calls for certain attire so when I go out, many factors play a major role in what it is I should wear. Factors such as where am I going? What kind of dress code does this place have, if any? How long am I going to be there? How is the weather? Should I dress to impress?
There are literally thousands of different things you can come up with to help you choose your wardrobe. Especially for the ladies. I mean seriously, ladies do not go out to places looking like they just woke up (unless they purposely meant to). So of course ladies, by default, this subject applies to you as well.
In my respective opinion, I feel very confident when I dress well. And I don’t mean that in an arrogant way. I once was told that if you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good you play good. When you see well-dressed people out at night, they seem to be having fun and enjoying themselves, splendidly. A confident person is easy to spot in a crowd from their body language and how they are presented. Now fella’s I’m not saying the best pick up subject to use is complimenting a lady’s attire. However it’s never a bad thing to have an aesthetic appreciation for the ladies.
So whatever your preferences should be, to dress up or down, feel confident about the way you look! I’ve learned that you do not need to wear high-end clothing to look good, (although Dior and Versace will always get looks!), and that sticking to your budget can surprise you very well!
